The pasta production plant was built in 1997 in the Kilkis Industrial Zone. It started operations in 1998. It is one of the most technologically advanced pasta production facilities in Europe, with four continuous production lines, 2 for long and 2 for short pasta. Overall annual production capacity is 72,000 tons of pasta. The state-of-the-art production lines produce pasta of high quality for the Greek and foreign markets. The company has also invested significantly in full automation of production and packaging, cutting down production costs.
In September 2006, operations commenced at our fully automated, state-of-the-art mill for producing semolina from durum wheat. The mill has a daily capacity of 260 tons, enough to meet all the production plant’s needs for raw materials. The mill is regarded as EURIMAC’s most important investment, producing the high-quality semolina necessary for the best pasta.
In September 2010, a new, state-of-the-art, automated 9,500 pallet position warehouse was constructed (9,200 tons of stock), which is electronically managed on a FIFO basis. The facility allows simultaneous loading of 8 container trucks.
In April 2013, under the Development Law 3908/11, work was completed on the construction of a state-of-the-art superheated water boiler (8,000 kcal/hr), which is fuelled by rice husks from the rice processing plant owned by the shareholders (EURICOM) in Halastra, Thessaloniki. Apart from the obvious environmental benefits, the company will also enjoy significant financial savings from use of the new boiler.
